PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost optical module which is improved in optical coupling efficiency. SOLUTION: The optical module 1 includes a joint sleeve (J sleeve) 41 fixed to an optical device 10 with a photoelectric conversion device set therein, and a holder sleeve 43 that holds a ferule 44, and an optical axis adjusting member 42 for adjusting the positional relation between the J sleeve 41 and the holder sleeve 43. The J sleeve 41 and the optical axis adjusting member 42 are adhered together at their end surfaces perpendicular to the optical axis through an adhesion layer having a thickness of 10 to 20μm, and the optical axis adjusting member 42 and the holder sleeve 43 are adhered together at their engagement surfaces parallel to the optical axis through an adhesion layer having a thickness of 10 to 20μm.
