PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce working manhours and cost for providing a fuel return passage. SOLUTION: In a supply pump 1, a plunger 4 is reciprocatively arranged in a plunger barrel 3, a pressure chamber 25 is formed between the plunger barrel 3 and the plunger 4, and a first suction port 41 and a second suction port 42 for sucking fuel into the pressure chamber 25 in the lowering stroke of the plunger 4 and a fuel discharge passage 32 for discharging the fuel from the pressure chamber 25 in the rising stroke of the plunger 4 are arranged. At a position where the plunger 4 gets to a lower dead center, the second suction port 42 which is provided in the plunger barrel 3 in the direction approximately perpendicular to the axial center of the plunger 4 and an annular groove 51 which is provided on the inner peripheral face of the plunger barrel 3 are communicated with the pressure chamber 25.
