PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photo-electrically measure the size of an object to be measured moving on a road without any contact in high resolution. SOLUTION: A device for measuring object dimension simultaneously starts measurement by using a plurality of sets of measuring units 11 having a plurality of light emitting elements 12a, 12b, ... and a plurality of light receiving elements 13a, 13b, ... respectively by being arranged along a moving route B in length measurement of the object to be measured A during moving the moving route B. In other words, emission and lights-out from each light emitting element 12a, 12b, ... of each measuring unit 11 are sequentially performed to operate each corresponding light receiving element 13a, 13b, ... by being synchronized with it. Thus, if the total of the light receiving elements 13i performing off output without detecting a light beam in each measuring unit 11 at a certain time point is found, the length of the object to be measured A can be known.
