A video display device and a method for video displaying are provided to reproduce a video from a point of time where a user wants to watch the video by using a preview image which is seen when a recorded broadcast program is selected. A preview generator(80) produces a preview of the recorded broadcast program stored in a storage(70). The preview generator stores a generated preview in the storage to be corresponded to a corresponding recorded broadcast program. A preview extractor(90) extracts one or more preview of the recorded broadcast program already stored in the storage according to a command inputted through a key input unit(60). A recording list generator(100) generates a recording list based on the extracted preview through the preview extractor and recorded program list stored in the storage. A controller(110) successively displays one or more preview about the specific recorded broadcast program on the record list generated through the record list generator. The controller reproduces a video based on the preview from a specific point of time of the recorded broadcast program.
