A method for controlling an engine to restart when a motor oil pump of a hybrid vehicle has a trouble is provided to prevent impact of a transmission effectively controlling the number of rotation of the engine through ISG speed control. A method for controlling an engine to restart when a motor oil pump of a hybrid vehicle comprises the following steps of: driving an electronic oil pump in an idle stop state; stopping drive of the electronic oil pump after determining troubles; beginning engine motoring by ISG; increasing the number of revolution of an engine; maintaining the number of revolution by controlling the drive of the ISG; and completing ISG motoring termination and engine restart.
