<p>The clamping fixture features a chuck (1) provided with a locking mechanism (2) for releasably locating a workpiece pallet (33). The locking mechanism (2) comprises a plurality of clamping members (5) which in the locked position are engineere d to engage a clamping spigot (30) connected the workpiece pallet. Each clamping member (5) is provided with a feedthru drilling (8, 8a) which on correct locking and/or release of the corresponding clamping members (5) is closed off at one end. Additionall y, or alternatively, each clamping member (5) is assigned an actuating member(10) provided with a feedthru drilling (12) which on correct locking and/or release of the corresponding clamping members (5) is closed off at one end. The feedthru drillings (8, 8a , 12) of the clamping members (5) and actuating members (10) respectively are connectable by a common connecting conduit to a compressed air source. In addition, at least one sensor is provided for sensing air flow in the connecting conduit. By means of the sensor it can detected whether the clamping members (5) are correctly releas ed or locked.</p> |
