A display device for setup a wallpaper on a computer screen and a method thereof are provided to easily change a wallpaper for a desktop of a graphic user interface by using a scanning function to setup the scanned image as a wallpaper or selecting a saved image on a desktop to be used as a wallpaper. A control unit(130) is a platform for executing a utility program stored in a storage unit(110). The control unit executes the utility program to generate a GUI(Graphic User Interface), and the generated GUI is outputted to a display unit(140), an image forming apparatus(100) and a display unit of a host device connected through a network. The generated GUI includes a plurality of icons corresponding to a stored Widget program. When a setup program is selected, the control unit provides a GUI for editing a wallpaper depending on each program, and the wallpaper is changed by the options chosen in the GUI. The control unit is inputted a wallpaper setup area and an image used as the wallpaper through the GUI. A wallpaper setup area is either an icon display area corresponding to each utility program or an utility program execution area. |
