A method for manufacturing functional porcelain is provided to show excellent food storage capability for a long term, which results from powerful anion-generation and far-infrared ray-radiation effects and absorb bad smells while securing antibiosis, adsorption and antifungal effects. A method for manufacturing functional porcelain comprises the following steps of: preparing compositions for the functional porcelain; plasticizing the prepared compositions; compressing the plasticized compositions looking like pieces of stings to make intensive bands; molding the compositions into the functional porcelain; primarily sintering the functional porcelain; applying colored glaze to the functional porcelain; and secondarily sintering the functional porcelain. A composition of the functional porcelain contains 37-43% of fined loess, 14-18% of clay, 13-17% of feldspar, 26-30% of kaolin, 1.5-2.5% of illite and 1-1.55% of monazite. The intensive bands are prepared by compressing the dozens of plasticized compositions looking like pieces of stings together.
