TWO-SECTION GAS TURBINE LOCOMOTIVE

FIELD: transport. ^ SUBSTANCE: gas turbine locomotive comprises two traction sections furnished with bodies with a frame and operator cab, and bogies with wheels pairs provided with drive motors. One of the sections houses a power plant including gas turbine engine driving the traction and auxiliary generator and additional equipment. The other section accommodates tank to store liquefied cryogenic gas fuel and auxiliary diesel generator. The aforesaid tank is arranged on the body frame so that the vertical projection of the tank center of gravity is aligned with that of the rest section weight. Note here that the said tank and power plant are isolated from the control cabs and the section body rear walls by isolated compartments locked in operation of the gas turbine engine. Note also that the cryogenic gas tank represents a cryogenic cistern. The branch pipes letting air out from the power plant motor cooled spaces are connected to the gas turbine roof air preparation unit to prevent icing up in winter. ^ EFFECT: improved ecology, lower metal input, higher traction and safety along with improved protection of fuel tank in emergent conditions. ^ 5 cl, 2 dwg
