The system (10) has a band extrusion device (12) with an extrusion opening (18) for extruding a gum band (B) through the opening for forming the gum band. A wire displacing unit (20) displaces wires (F) with respect to the opening along a direction parallel to a vertical direction (Z) such that the dimension of the opening along the vertical direction imposes thickness of the band. The wire displacing unit has a band displacing unit (30) arranged in downstream of the opening to displace the band in the downstream of the opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a gum band in which wires are embedded.
