A mobile terminal and a pointer operating method thereof are provided to move a pointer along with a slope and a direction, thereby manipulating an input key. A mobile terminal(100) comprises a sensing unit(140), a display(151) and a controller(180). The sensing unit senses a slope and a direction of the mobile terminal. The display is formed on one side of the mobile terminal. And the display displays a pointer. According to the slope and the direction sensed by the sensing unit, the controller moves the pointer.
