A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a thermal property by forming a sufficient wall charge in a light emitting cell during a sub reset period. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel and a discharge cell. The plasma display panel includes a plurality of address electrodes(A), a plurality of sustain electrodes(X), and a plurality of scanning electrodes(Y). The address electrodes are arranged into a column direction. The sustain electrodes and the scanning electrodes are arranged into a row direction. The discharge cell is formed by the address electrode, the sustain electrode, and the scanning electrode. One frame is divided into a plurality of sub fields. A sustain electrode driving part supplies a reference voltage to the sustain electrodes, and a scanning electrode driving part gradually increases a voltage of the scanning electrodes from a first voltage to a second voltage during a sustain period of a sub field(SF1) and a sub reset period of a sub field(SF2).
