The assembly has a lateral panel (12) comprising a flap (18) for accessing a towing unit of a vehicle. An operating tab (66) is connected to a locking tooth (60). The locking tooth is extended from an interior side of the panel when the flap is closed, and prevents opening of the flap. The locking tooth is operated by acting on the operating tab for unlocking the locking tooth to open the flap from an exterior side of the panel.
