PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of always giving an optimum image blur correction effect, regardless of the use condition of the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a first shake detection means 201; a second shake detection means 211; a calculation means 203 calculating a correction position control signal; a gain correction coefficient calculating means 303 calculating the gain correction coefficient of gain for adjusting the correction position control signal; a gain setting means 308 changing the gain; a correction means driven by the correction position control signal adjusted by the gain, to perform image blur correction; a panning operation judging means 309 judging whether or not panning operation is performed; and a switching means 310 switching whether or not the change of the gain by the gain correction coefficient is performed, according to the judgment result of the panning operation.
