<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which is improved in light extraction efficiency by suppressing variations of an uneven shape formed on a semiconductor surface. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a substrate, a semiconductor stack structure having a plurality of semiconductor layers including at least a light emitting layer and formed on the substrate, and an uneven shape portion formed on the surface of the semiconductor stack structure on the opposite side from the substrate while including projection portions and recessed portions, surfaces of the projection portions or recessed portions of the uneven shape portion exposing a plurality of regions of the plurality of semiconductor layers that the semiconductor stack structure have. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
