PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving heat-sterilized food, constituted by using a polypropylene multilayer container and a lid, each having gas barrier property and suitable as a material for packaging food requiring heat sterilization. SOLUTION: The method for preserving heat-sterilized food is constituted by using the container, having a layer structure composed of at least three layers where a layer consisting mainly of polypropylene; an adhesive layer made of adhesive thermoplastic resin; and a layer made of gas barrier resin substantially, having no hydroxy group are laminated in this order, and the lid having a gas-barrier layer to seal the food; and sterilizing the food with heat at 80°C or higher.
