<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer material that does not cause the deposition of an ultraviolet absorber and the bleed out thereof on use over a long period of time, has excellent long wave ultraviolet absorbing capability and exhibits excellent light fastness with its absorbing capability retained for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer material is produced by incorporating a compound represented by formula (1) into a predetermined polymer substance wherein in formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently denotes a hydrogen atom or a substituent, provided that R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>may be attached to each other to form a ring including a nitrogen atom; R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>each independently denotes a substituent having a σp value of the Hammett's substituent constant of 0.2 or more, provided that R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>may be attached to each other to form a ring; and R<SP>a</SP>to R<SP>c</SP>denote a hydrogen atom or a substituent, provided that arbitrary two groups of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>a</SP>to R<SP>c</SP>may together form a ring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
