PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To defrost outdoor heat exchangers 17a, 17b while performing air heating in a defrosting operation. SOLUTION: In the defrosting operation, a part (arrow G3 in Fig. 3) of discharged refrigerant of a compressor 12a flows into indoor heat exchangers 42 of indoor machines 40a, 40b. In the indoor heat exchangers 42, the refrigerant is condensed to radiate heat into the indoor air distributed from indoor machine air distributions fan 43. Thus the indoor air is heated by the refrigerant. The remaining (arrow G4 in Fig. 3) of the discharged refrigerant of the compressor 12a flows into refrigerant inlets 171 of outdoor heat exchangers 17a, 17b through a bypass pipe 31. Here, the refrigerant melts frost by heating the outdoor heat exchangers 17a, 17b in passing through the outdoor heat exchangers 17a, 17b. Thus the refrigerant is liquefied, and the liquid-phase refrigerant flows into an accumulator 19 through a four-way valve 14 äc→b in Fig. 1 (not shown)}. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
