PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field network system capable of detecting abnormality without depending on the scale of a system, and to provide a field communication method. SOLUTION: The field network system is configured by connecting autonomous nodes 1 and 1, etc., to a field network 2. Each autonomous node 1 includes: a communication procedure defining means 11 for determining a communication procedure on the field network 2; a detection means 12 for detecting a communication condition on the field network 2 at prescribed timing with the timing of communication that the autonomous node 1 engages in as a reference; and a comparison means 13 for comparing the detected result of the detection means 12 with the communication procedure defined by the communication procedure defining means 11.
