PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply-structured vertical kiln that can be inexpensively manufactured and is capable of effectively using combustion gas. SOLUTION: In the vertical kiln, a preheating region is formed at an upper part and a baking region is formed at a lower part of a stationary furnace body 10 forming a vertical cylinder. The preheating region is formed in a space between a furnace lid 14 provided with a combustion gas supply device 15 and a furnace floor 11 having a falling opening 11A, and the baking region is formed in a space below the furnace floor 11. A circulation cylinder body 20 is disposed in the furnace body 10 forming an inner space over the preheating region and the baking region in the vertical direction and opening downward. An air feeding device 16 is mounted on the furnace lid 14. The inner space of the circulation cylinder body 20 is connected to an air feeding cylinder 16A at the upper part of the circulation cylinder body 20. Gas flowing in from an opening part 22 at a lower end of the circulation cylinder body 20 rises in the inner space, is sent to the air feeding device 16, and is returned into the furnace body 10 together with air in the air feeding device 16.
