It is an object to provide a dimming device and a lighting device using the same configured to improve light emission efficiency at dimming time. The lighting device includes a light source (1) and a dimming device (2). The dimming device (2) is provided with an electric current output circuit (5) for supplying a constant electric current for lighting to the light source (1) comprised of an organic electro-luminescence element, an electric current control circuit (6) for controlling the magnitude of a driving electronic current output from the electric current output circuit (5), wherein the electronic current control circuit (6) biases a direct current component, when the light source (1) is dimmed, so that the driving electric current periodically changes between a predetermined maximum value and a predetermined minimum value and always flows in the same direction.
