The air conditioner has a heater (12) and a cooling circuit (14). The heat is generated by a heater, where certain part of heat generated in a heating mode is used for heating a vehicle inner space (16), and a certain part of heat generated in a cooling mode is used for mechanically driving a cooling circuit. A steam turbine (18) is provided for driving the cooling circuit. An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle, which has a drive motor.
