<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypeptide having a photogenic catalytic activity, consisting of less amino acid residues in the polypeptide having the photogenic catalytic activity by using luciferin as a photogenic substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence consisting of a specific sequence of secretor luciferase originated from a shellfish living in deep sea.
