<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which has excellent light emission characteristics, and can prevent a deterioration in manufacturing efficiency and trouble caused by cut burrs. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a substrate which has a nonpolar electrode layer 6 formed on a top surface, an LED element 20 mounted on a predetermined region of the nonpolar electrode layer 6, a plurality of cathode electrode layers 3 and anode electrode layers 4 formed on the top surface of the substrate 1 to supply electric power to the LED element 20, and a reflection frame 30 made of a metallic material and having an internal surface 31a made into a reflecting surface for reflecting light from the LED element 20, wherein the reflection frame 30 is provided with a cut portion 36 on one end side of an external side surface so that at least a portion of a corner portion formed of two external side surfaces is removed, and also mounted on the top surface of the substrate 1 in thermal contact with the nonpolar electrode layer 6, which is electrically insulated and separated from one of the cathode electrodes 3 and anode electrodes 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
