<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein display at an operation section, such as a numeric keypad, remains as the display of a portable telephone unit although television broadcasting can be watched on a sidelong screen in the portable telephone unit having a television reception function that can be opened and closed in long and short side directions. <P>SOLUTION: A display sheet 13 at the operation section is applied to a slide plate 6 sliding in a first casing 1. A cam 12 is provided in linking with a first rotating shaft 9. The slide plate 6 is shifted by the movement of the cam 12 by utilizing the simultaneous rotation of the first rotating shaft 9 and a second casing 2 when the second casing 2 is opened longitudinally. The display of the operation section, such as a numeric keypad, is changed from numeral key arrangement for channel selection to that for telephones.
