The method involves pre-conditioning a magnetic circuit of an injection valve before an injection process. The valve is controlled by an anchor brake impulse for short time after completion of the injection process. Energy is removed from the magnetic circuit with a reverse flow cancellation before the injection process. A premagnetization is taken place for realization of the pre-conditioning for the injection process of an injecting cycle. A mechanical damping time of an anchor of the valve is shortened by providing an anchor brake impulse. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controller for controlling an injection valve (2) a computer program with program code unit for operation of an injection valve (3) a computer program product with program code unit for operation of an injection valve.
