CORRECTION METHOD FOR PHOTON COUNTING IMAGING SYSTEM

In a method of count correction in a pixilated photon counting imaging system, a response of accumulated counts versus photon flux densities absent passage thereof through an object to be imaged is determining for each pixel. An average accumulated counts versus the photon flux densities is determining from the responses of the plurality of pixels. For at least one pixel, a count is accumulated for said pixel in response to exposure to an unknown photon flux density after passage through an object being imaged. A count is determined on the average response curve based on a correlation with the accumulated count. A visible image of the object being imaged is formed based on the count determined on the average response curve.
