PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw member allowing a connecting screw part to be easily corrected to project in a predetermined direction with respect to a mounting surface, and capable of preventing damage of a thread face of the connecting screw part, and to provide a method of mounting a screw member. SOLUTION: This screw member is provided with a tapping screw part 12 on one end side, the connecting screw part 14 on the other end side, and a nut-like tool hooking part 16 between the tapping screw part and the connecting screw part. A tapered joint part 18 having a diameter increased toward the tool hooking part 16 from the circumferential surface of the tapping screw part 12 is formed at a part of the tapping screw part 12 in contact with the tool hooking part 16. The tapping screw part 12 is screwed into a mounting hole 22 up to an extent where an intermediate part of the tapered joint part 18 is positioned at an opening surface 26 of the mounting hole.
