METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EXPANSION OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION BASE STATION FORWARD CELL COVERAGE

A method and an apparatus for expanding forward cell coverage of a mobile communication base station are provided to improve larger coverage and service quality compared with a TMA(Tower Mount Amplifier) or a TTA(Tower Top Amplifier). An apparatus for expanding forward cell coverage of a mobile communication base station comprises a channel card(200), a high power linear amplifier(210a,210b), an LNA(Low Noise Amplifier)(220a,220b), a BPF(Band-Pass Filter)(240), a receiving-antenna(250), a service antenna(260), a coupler(270), a time delay unit(280) and a duplexer(230,290). In case of a forward direction, a transmission signal is obtained from a signal of an existing transmission path outputted from the channel card while minimizing the loss of an existing path by using the coupler. The time delay unit, the high power linear amplifier and the duplexer are added to add an additional transmission path.
