摘要 A liquid crystal display is provided to obtain a wide viewing angle and high brightness by using a liquid crystal layer orientated to a bend mode. A first alignment layer is positioned in a lower part of an upper display plate and is rubbed to a first direction. A lower display plate is positioned to face the upper display plate. A second alignment layer is positioned in an upper part of the lower display plate and is rubbed to a second direction. A liquid crystal layer(3) is interposed between the first and second alignment layers. An initial alignment state of the liquid crystal layer is orientated to a splay mode. When applying the voltage above a predetermined value, the liquid crystal layer is arranged to a bend mode. A liquid crystal molecule adjacent to the first and second alignment layers is maintained in a first direction and a second direction. As the liquid crystal molecule becomes far away from the first and second alignment layer, the liquid crystal molecule are aligned to a vertical direction and are symmetrical. A first compensation film(210) compensates for the phase difference of the light and is arranged in an upper part of the upper display panel. A second compensation film(215) is arranged in a lower part of the lower display panel.
