The device has sensors (S) e.g. driving dynamic sensors, for determining a lateral speed (V y) and/or a side slip angle (beta ). A microcontroller controls a rollover protective unit over an ignition circuit controller (FLIC) depending on the lateral speed and/or the side slip angle and depending on threshold exceeded condition by the lateral speed and the increase of the lateral speed. The sensors provide yaw rate, longitudinal speed and/or wheel speed and/or steering angle and/or lateral acceleration of a vehicle. |
