A roller rotating device is disclosed for cleaning and drying paint rollers. The device comprises a roller housing 3 and a gearbox 2. The gearbox 2 comprises a drive gear 5, at least one idler gear 12, a driven gear 11 and a drive shaft 7 which extends between the gearbox 2 and the housing for rotating a roller 22 disposed within the housing 3. The gearbox 2 further comprises drive means 9 for rotating the drive shaft 7 wherein the drive gear 5, the at least one idler gear 12 and the driven gear 11 are rotatably coupled, such that rotation of the drive gear 5 at a first rotational rate causes the drive shaft 7 to rotate at a second rotational rate. The second rotational rate is preferably greater than the first rotational rate. |
