A circuit capable of generating a driving wave is provided to control the number of driving waves by transmitting a drive data through a serial bus. A drive data storage unit stores a drive data about the number of driving waves to be generated through a serial bus. A driving wave generating unit generates driving waves corresponding to the number of drive data stored in the drive data storage unit, and includes a reference wave generating circuit(10), a unit counter, an output enable circuit(14), and an output gate(20). The reference wave generating circuit generates a reference wave having a reference cycle according to a reference clock. The unit counter counts one cycle of the reference wave. If a counted value reaches the number of predetermined units, the unit counter outputs a unit detection pulse. The output enable circuit counts a unit detection pulse from the unit counter. While an output enable signal is outputted from the output enable circuit, the output gate outputs a driving wave.
