A vacuum cleaner is provided to make the length of tube short by containing a contracted upper hose in an extension pipe when not using. A vacuum cleaner comprises a main body in which an electric blower is equipped; a pipe connected to a suction part of the electric blower; an extension pipe(6) includes; an upper hose(11) extended with the external force; a bottom hose(12) contracted with the external force and connected to the lower side end of the upper hose; and a fixing unit(33) maintaining the state of being extended of the upper hose.
