摘要 A collision avoidance and warning system and method are provided. The system includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor senses an object in a field of view, wherein the sensor determines a direct range measurement between the sensor and the object and an angle measurement of the object with respect to the sensor. The controller receives the direct range measurement and angle measurement from the sensor, and determines if the object is in an in-path area based upon the direct range measurement and angle measurement, as a function in a pseudo polar coordinate frame.
