The invention concerns aqueous liquid bleaching compositions comprising a hypochlorite salt and a quaternary ammonium salt characterised in that the ammonium salt has the general formula: R<SUB>1</SUB>R<SUB>2</SUB>R<SUB>3</SUB>R<SUB>4</SUB>N<SUP>+</SUP> X<SUP>-</SUP>, wherein R<SUB>1</SUB> is a C<SUB>10</SUB>-C<SUB>20</SUB> alkyl group, each of R<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUB>3</SUB> and R<SUB>4</SUB> independently is a C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>3</SUB> alkyl group and X is an inorganic anion and the composition comprises a thickening system comprised of amine oxide surfactant and fatty acid. |
