PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator allowing a user to safely get in and out without uneasiness between an elevator landing and an elevator car even if a clearance exists between the elevator landing and the elevator car. SOLUTION: The elevator car 3 is provided with a getting-in/out assisting device 13. The getting-in/out assisting device 13 comprises a carrier plate 14 that can be reciprocated between the inside of the elevator car 3 and the elevator landing 7 when the elevator car 3 lands and stops at the elevator landing 7. When the elevator car 3 lands and stops at the elevator landing 7 and the carrier plate 14 moves to the elevator landing 7 from the inside of the elevator car 3, a passenger using a wheelchair gets on the carrier plate 14. In this state, the carrier plate 14 is moved into the elevator car 3 to carry the passenger using the wheelchair into the elevator car 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
