<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium for achieving excellent recording/reproducing characteristics in an optical recording medium having a recording layer including an organic dye, and to provide a manufacturing method of the optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a recording layer including an organic dye, and a light transmission layer transmitting light for recording an information signal on the recording layer. There is a buffer layer including a polymer material between the recording layer and the light transmission layer. The polymer material is at least one kind of polybutadiene, polyisoprene, and their copolymers.
