PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant resin belt, wherein air bubbles are prevented from being mixed at a joint even when a surface layer is formed by laminating a silicone compound film, and a good-quality image free of a defect is obtained even when the belt is used as a fixing belt. SOLUTION: In the heat-resistant resin belt of an endless shape constituting an image forming apparatus, a first machined section 11 formed by machining the front surface side at one end portion of a heat-resistant resin sheet 10 in a way as to form a tapered shape in a cross section and a second machined section 12 formed by machining the rear surface side of the other end portion in a way as to form the tapered shape in the cross section are joined by an adhesive 14 in the state of superposing the mutual tapered shape portions on each other, and the joined portion and the neighborhood thereof are subjected to a flattening treatment.
