Method for the manufacture of frameless spectacles, with a protective surround for the lenses which is a decorative element. The invention consists of a frameless pair of spectacles, the lenses of which include a groove in the edge around their perimeters in order to receive a fitting, such as a textile cord or a plastic or rubber tube, fixed by adhesive bonding or forcibly mounted, which confers, on the pair of spectacles, protection for the lenses and decoration of the face. The sides can be sheathed with the same fitting. Method intended for the prescription (ophthalmic) spectacles or sun-glasses industry.
