PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can prevent deformation of gradation, when compressing a color reproduction range (first gamut) of input data to a color reproduction range (second gamut) of a virtual device, and can obtain superior image quality, having a proper appearance, by maximally utilizing the capability of an output device. SOLUTION: In the image processor, the color reproduction range (first gamut) in input data is set as a virtual elastic body so that the set virtual elastic body is transformed into the color reproduction range (second gamut) in the virtual device. Thus, even when the color reproduction range is different, deformation of gradation image can be suppressed effectively, and a proper quality of image having a fine appearance can be obtained, by maximally utilizing the capability of an output device.
