PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase sensitivity of a suspension arm actuator. SOLUTION: The suspension arm actuator for a scanning device, comprising a suspension arm 1 which is designed as a two-arm lever I, II, is allocated to a disk-shaped data carrier and is mounted to a support so as pivotally movable around a pivot axis SA extending perpendicularly in relation to the suspension arm 1. At one end of the lever arm I, this suspension arm 1 supports a pickup 4 and, on the other lever arm II, comprises a focus coil 5 for a magnetic drive M1 initiating a focusing motion of the pickup 4 perpendicular in relation to the data carrier.
