<p>There is disclosed a point-of-sale controller operably coupled to a remote point-of-sale device and a remote selection computer. The controller comprises a transaction manager comprising rules and/or actions relating to products available via the selection computer, an interface configured to receive from the selection computer a recipient identity and a item identity, control code configured to process said received identity information and to cause a data item readable at a point-of-sale device to be sent to a mobile device of said recipient, an interface configured to receive a reference from a point-of-sale device, said reference being responsive to reading of said data item by a point-of-sale device, and further control code configured to determine based on said rules and/or actions an amount owing to a retailer responsive to said reference.</p> |
