An apparatus, a system and a method for notifying a traffic emergency using sensor network are provided to have a sensor node installed in a vehicle and a sensor located on a road to prevent accidents by informing other drivers behind an accident site about the accident in real time. A system for notifying traffic emergency by using a sensor network grasps a direction of a vehicle by using a reference node number of a reference message, and maintains and manages an indication value of the direction of the vehicle(S710). A node installed in a vehicle senses an urgent brake operation or other emergency operations in the vehicle and generates an emergency message after recognizing an emergency situation(S720). A controller of the node installed in the vehicle determines the delivery distance of the emergency message after receiving the speed of the vehicle from speed measuring unit(S730). The controller of the node installed in the vehicle generates and transmits an emergency message including a reference node number, a direction indicating value, and a message delivery distance(S740).
