PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to intuitively grasp to what extent decreased currently actually flowing flow raises an alarm, thereby easing flow monitoring. SOLUTION: The threshold setting method for flow monitoring in a flow meter measures, under the condition that a fluid to be subjected to flow monitoring is allowed to flow through the flow meter, in response to the performance of a setting operation for setting a threshold by a user, the flow when the setting operation has been performed by the flowmeter, and sets a flow with a set ratio stored in advance with respect to the measured flow as the threshold.
