PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering apparatus capable of displacing a steering member at a desired attitude smoothly. SOLUTION: A steering member 4 is supported by a support mechanism 16 that supports the steering member 4 so as to be movable between a housing position where the steering member is housed in a fixed frame 15 of an instrument panel 14 and a projection position where the steering member projects outside of the fixed frame 15. The support mechanism 16 is capable of regulating an attitude of the steering member 4 located between the housing position and the projection position. When the steering member 4 is at the housing position, an opening 27 provided in the fixed frame 15 is covered by a movable frame 26 that constitutes a part of the instrument panel 14.
