PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material and an electric collecting member which have excellent sliding property and wear-resistance and reduce the maintenance cost. SOLUTION: This composite material is the one, in which a plurality of material kinds are sintered and composited, and a hardened porous carbon material and copper, are contained. The hardened porous carbon material uses a material including a rice bran as the raw material, and it is desirable to use the composite material further adding the carbon. Furthermore, it is desirable that the blending amount of the hardened porous carbon material is 1-10 mass% and its average grain diameter is 50-150μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
