<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication equipment capable of selecting an optimum transmission method even if a propagation state rapidly changes, and an adaptive modulation system. <P>SOLUTION: A quality determination value is calculated by the sum obtained by adding a value obtained by multiplying bit error information by a correction coefficient and a value obtained by multiplying the preceding quality determination value by an attenuation coefficient. A difference between the current quality determination value and the preceding quality determination value is calculated. The correction coefficient is determined by information showing the current modulation system and the difference.
