PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that playback sound during fast forward playback is hard to hear in an audio playback device. SOLUTION: Audio data to be played back are associated with data for expressing timing of a beat which is a meter of a music piece, as a meta-data. During the fast forward playback, corresponding meta-data are read, and a part including the timing of the beat in the audio data is decided to be a playback part A, and a remaining part in an interval C between beats is decided to be as a non-playback part B. Only the playback part A is sequentially played back and output. The time percentage of the playback part A and the non-playback part B is decided by a playback speed required during fast forward playback. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
