PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission capable of properly suppressing a torque shift. SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission comprises a power roller 4 provided so as to contact with an input disc and an output disc; a transmission rate changing means 5 supporting the power roller 4 so as to freely rotate and tilt, controlling the hydraulic pressure of hydraulic oil by a hydraulic control means, and capable of changing a transmission rate by moving the power roller 4 from a neutral position to a gear shift position; a feedback control means 61 carrying feedback control on the basis of a target transmission rate and an actual transmission rate; and a feedforward control means 62 carrying out feedforward control on the basis of input torque which is driving force inputted in the input disc and transmitting characteristics of a hydraulic control system by the hydraulic control means. A control means 60 is provided, which controls the transmission rate changing means 5 so as to make the actual transmission rate become the target transmission rate by the feedback control means 61 and the feedforward control means 62.
